Client OverviewA 1200 TEU container vessel operating under the Liberian flag required a secure escort for a six-month period covering the Jeddah – Aden – Jeddah route, an area recognized for elevated maritime security risk.
Objective
Deliver a fully compliant, ISO-certified security escort ensuring safe passage through high-risk zones, while supporting the vessel’s Master with risk mitigation and intelligence.
Our three-man M1 security team worked closely with the Master to:
Conduct a full voyage risk assessment
Identify vulnerable legs of the transit
Establish security procedures aligned with M1 SOPs
Integrate the plan with operational intelligence feeds
All procedures were approved by the Master prior to commencement.
We handled all approvals required for lawful and compliant passage:
Flag State Approval from the Liberian administration
Port State Clearance from Yemen Coast Guard for Aden transit
This ensured seamless movement through regulated maritime checkpoints.
A three-man armed security team embarked the vessel from the Red Sea platform
All kit and equipment were secured and logged according to ICoCA standards
M1 Standard Operating Procedures were implemented onboard
The team maintained continuous coordination with the Master and crew
Our operations room conducted twice-daily monitoring, providing:
Real-time intelligence updates
Risk alerts
Route adjustments if required
This ensured the vessel remained updated on threats throughout its voyage.
Upon successful completion of the transit, the team and equipment were signed off at OPL Fujairah, marking another incident-free operation.
Zero security incidents throughout the contract
Full compliance with ISO 28000, ICoCA, and flag/port state requirements
High-risk area transit completed safely and efficiently
Strong operational coordination between Master, crew, and M1 security team
