The many faces of the International Day for Women In Maritime

Women are an integral part of the maritime workforce, contributing to the success of shipping lines, ports, onshore services, and more
As an event organizer, Seatrade Maritime, part of Informa Markets - the world’s largest event organizer - we can offer a powerful platform as a key supplier and facilitator to the maritime industry to bring women to the global spotlight.
For the inaugural International Day for Women in Maritime, 18th May 2022, the IMO invited women of the maritime sector to share photos of themselves at work, using the hashtag #MaritimeWomenPhotoShare. Thanks to contributions from around the world, IMO are building a bank of images of women in maritime, where external audiences can source quality and realistic photos for use in news stories, social media posts, and brochures, for example. The aim is to achieve a more diverse representation of maritime careers in the media so that roles such as captain, chief engineer, and seafarer are also portrayed by women. This will be key in inspiring young women to embark on a maritime career, by showing there is a place for them in the maritime sector.
This video celebrates all the women who work at Seatrade Maritime and contribute to showing the many, global faces within our team.
